 2016 Summary

This year our unit of United Methodist Women have supported the global ministries of the church internationally and nationally through the conference and district by way of Call to Prayer and Self-Denial, World Thank Offering, Southside Community Center, to UMCOR and to the International fellowship of the Least Coin,  Methodist Children’s Home In Waco and Legacy Fund of UMW.

Locally we have supported growth and education with nursing scholarships for two young women.   We reach out to the Youth through Communities in Schools, Connections, Casa Hermosa, Blue Santa, Steve’s Pantry in Gruene UMC, FUMC in New Braunfels Mission Team for the Building Project and our own UM Youth at First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels.

We have assisted families in crisis with moneys to SOS Food Bank, , Family Promise, and a donation for work in Human Trafficking.

Today we are presenting an initial check to Blue Santa in the amount of $500.00 with todays collection being delivered as soon as possible.

We would also like to present to our Church Nurse “Michelle Truchsess” ( Truck sess ) a check for $600.00 to be used to help the homeless.

This represents over $20,000 to families and youth locally, nationally, and internationally.

Our Purpose has been to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons though Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Thank You and Merry Christmas to All
